My Story
G’day, it’s Adam.
I am a certified personal trainer, author and physique transformer (& part-time video maker:))
I overcame 6 years of failed fat loss attempts to get into shape following a 12-week “Mission” documented in real time (on this blog) with daily progress pics and daily accountability blogging between November 8, 2006 and January 31, 2007.
I continued with 5 additional Missions, all documented in real time over 1000 days ending in New York in August 2009. My final documented “Mission 6″, coincided with the launch of the RTP Transformation System (world’s first “real time” body transformation program with unprecedented customer success/completion rate of 35.04% – 120 success stories from 481 registered “contestants” of the RTP Contest), creation of the ShredderSphere Real Time Accountability/Support Community (world’s first “real time physique transformation” blogging/forum network) the RTP Transformation Contest (world’s first global “real time physique transformation” contest conducted in a singular forum) and the New York Shredder Summit (a 3-day event attended by 55 ShredderSphere members from 7 countries).
2011 Note: This blog and associated products are currently “on ice” while I map out a new “model” that focuses purely on community (not “winner-take-all” prizes and contests).

Social Media and Web 2.0
The main reason this concept (and everything that followed) got “out there” is primarily due to the “real time” nature of this blog and the videos I created and published on YouTube. All promotion of my blog, book, forum, contest and “summits”, was “word of mouth” and built upon personal relationships and joint ventures generated via social media (i.e. I did use or pay for any traditional advertising).
Blog: over 1,150,000 unique visitors with over 10,000 individual blog comments.
Video: over 14,000,000 YouTube video views as at September 2011 (RTP Blog Video Page here).
MSM: Five media profiles (TV and Print) resulting in exposure to 35,000,000 people.
Web: ShredderSphere – 25,000 forum posts, 40,000 blog entries, 200,000 blog comments.
Book: 1,300 customers at 35.04% “12-week follow-through” rate from “Contest Registrants”

The Journey
After 6 years of “failed” attempts to get back into shape I decided to take yet another crack at transforming my physique, because I knew deep down that a successful physique transformation over 12 weeks would be the catalyst to completely transform my life.
The 5 “Mission” start and end pics (over first 2 years) can be seen on the header graphic of this blog and searched through the archives for specific posts and techniques. “Mission 6″ pics can be seen on Day 999 here. Below are some additional pics from my physical journey that demonstrate what this blog is all about (redemption is a recurring theme!)

Personal Trainer Certification
On March 24, 2007 I fulfilled my long-held goal by receiving my Personal Trainer Certification from NESTA (National Endurance & Sports Trainers Association).

In 2009 I published the “RTP Transformation System”, a 584-page 7-Module day-by-day guide that produced 120 documented success stories in the first 4 months of release.
The ShredderSphere Community
My passion is to help people transform their physiques in the shortest time possible, and help them live of the life of their dreams. This dream has become a reality with the introduction of the ShredderSphere 1.0 (External Blog Network) and ShredderSphere 2.0 (Dedicated Forum and Blog Network that members can use to document their mind/body/life transformation in real time).
The launch of RTP Transformation System and the 1000-Member strong ShredderSphere private community in March 2009 quickly became a huge success with 130 people completing their 12-Week “Missions” and achieving amazing mind, body and life transformations in the process. The ShredderSphere.com community hub has also achieved stunning activity and participation rates in the first four months of operation, with over 30,000 forum posts, 35,000 blog entries and 200,000 individual blog comments, with an amazing and unprecedented 35.04% success/12-week follow-through rate among “active” members.

RTP Transformation Contest
In april 2009 I conceived and conducted the world’s first “real time” global physique transformation contest run in a singular forum environment (at ShredderSphere.com). The Contest (a co-promotion with Tom Venuto from Burn The Fat) was a stunning success and provided a highly motivational atmosphere that propelled 120 members to make “real time” transformations using the RTP Transformation System, all while supporting each other in the process.

New York City Shredder Summit
Once the ShredderSphere.com community kicked off officially a “New York City Shredder Summit” was organized “on the fly” to coincide with the RTP Transformation Contest 3-day weekend.

NYC Shredder Summit attended by 55 members from 7 countries.
This Summit was a huge success with 50 fellow “Shredders” (members of the ShredderSphere.com community) from 7 different countries attending on 3 months notice. We had a “Meet N Greet”, a Manhattan Boat Cruise, an Awards Ceremony and a Central Park Fitness Challenge, and a ton of fun in the process. Check out a few of the pics below.

Meeting with Mentors & “Shredders”
I have been very fortunate to meet (and train) with my “Shredder Friends” along with my mentors in the fitness and business fields (all people who I’d met via contact through this blog). Here are a few pics below.

Travel
Traveling is one of my passions, and since I started living in Japan I was fortunate enough to visit a few places in Asia and the U.S., but even though it was fun I always felt a little frustrated because I was almost always out of shape and couldn’t do many physical activities. However, since I started this blog I have been fortunate to travel to a few places I had previously been to (like a “redemption travel” plan!) and a few new places. I can vouch that travel is so much more fun when you feel good mentally and physically.

My Other Gig
As mentioned in the first paragraph my other gig during the bulk of this “RTP period” was as a language instructor in Japan. Here are a few pics from my life in Japan.

In Tuka TV commercial blowing party streamers (no idea why) at a Kyoto temple - I'm the guy in the middle
I started out at the biggest “chain” school in Japan and had a great time teaching “kids” and adults.
Once I settled into teaching I began work as an “independent contractor” teaching at corporations and at High Schools on a full-time basis, below are a couple of class pics.
No topic about Japan would be complete without a karaoke pic (or two!) and a “Sayonara” party pic!
Until next time…
Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!
Cheers,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT
