Day 754: Big Day Out 2.0!

By

G’day Shredders,

Another big day out in Brissy today!

My friend and I began the day with a full-blown cruise of the Brisbane River that started at South Bank and went all the way up to Newstead Park (a 45 min trip at 8 knots per hour). Along the way I learnt many interesting things about Brisbane’s penal colony history and the surrounding landmarks.

After the cruise, we headed over to the Queensland Art Gallery, the State Library and GoMA (Gallery of Modern Art). As GoMa is a relatively recent addition to the Queensland art scene it was my first time there, and I must say I was very impressed! The art on display was an awe-inspiring collection of paintings, video, photography, sculpture and computer modeling. If you ever visit Brisbane make sure you check it out!

Below is a pic from South Bank around lunch time (In the back ground is a building where I used to work – many moons ago!)

Hi Suzette, yeah the city tours were a total blast, I never knew Brissy was such a fascinating city! (even though it is my “home town)
