Day 753: A Big Day Out!

By

G’day Shredders,

I am hammered!

Today I circumnavigated Brisbane city (with a little help from a RiverCat!) with a good friend of mine who had just arrived in town. We walked from the top of Brisbane down to the waterfront, over to the Botanical gardens, across to South Bank Parklands (17 hectares of land) and finished in Chinatown!

All told, I reckon we walked about 10 km’s! As I still had a case of the DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) from my recent training sessions my quads, hammies and calves were definitely feeling it by the end of the day!

The only problem was I didn’t bring my camera today so I don’t have any personal pics, but below is a picture of South Bank Parklands. A great place to spend Sunday afternoons!

Australia's only man-made beach in the middle of the city!

Wow – - 10 k is a long walk especially if your are dealing with DOMS. Your pre-shred pics are looking great mate.

    Hello!

I stumbled upon your blog a couple months ago and through it have discovered many other such blogs and inspiring stories. I have since read BFFM and Metabolic Surge. I just wanted to congratulate you for coming so far. I understand the back and forth of getting in shape and then falling out of shape again, so seeing that you have kept physically fit and healthy has really reminded me about my own passion to do so (and that it is perfectly realistic and doable). I particularly like the method of accountability by blog, so I have recently started my own. I just wanted to let you know that you have inspired yet another person and to keep doing what you do!

    A fan from Switzerland,
    Lia

I love the South Bank, and always enjoy the reaction from visitors when they talk about the beach they found there in the middle of the city! :)
