G’day Shredders,

Welcome to Day 5 of RTP Group Shred 2.0!

Happy Halloween to all my fellow Shredders! As you can see from today’s pic I became an aging rocker for nephew’s birthday/Halloween party!

A Very Important Topic 

For today’s video topic I discuss a very important component of physique transformation, nutrition. Many experts will tell you that your nutrition comprises up to 80% of your results.

While my philosophy is a little different (I believe there is an interdependent relationship between nutrition, training and mindset) there is no doubt that if you don’t eat clean consistently you won’t get “fast” results.

For many people, one of the big challenges of maintaining their “clean” nutrition plan is when they attend parties, events (Halloween, Christmas, etc) during the holiday season and feel the “social pressure” of “fitting in” and succumbing to temptation.

How To Avoid Holiday Season Over-Indulgence

My advice in these situations is two-fold, if possible prepare ahead of time and re-arrange your schedule to have your “reward meal” on the day of the party and always keep your PRW (Powerful Reason Why) at the forefront of your mind while you are at the party to keep you “in line”.

    G’day Shredders,

    Welcome to Day 3 of the RTP Group Shred 2.0, it is awesome to see so many Shredders re-invigortaed and excited about the Shred! Let’s consolidate our hard work over the first 2 days (don’t wanna let that go to waste!) and continue to focus on the single daily actions that produce results.

    Once you formulate the optimal plan for you (not the “perfect plan” as no such plan exists) and follow through with consistency on a daily basis your success is inevitable. Trust me, sometimes this game is only as difficult as we make it.

    Once you train your mind to expect success (taking daily pictures and expecting improvement is massive for this!) you begin to turn that “momentum snowball” into an avalanche of self-fulling physique transformation prophecy!

    Here’s the kicker, in order to program your mind to believe success is inevitable you must “do” those single daily actions that produce results. This in turn “convinces your mind” that you are “for real” and you begin to manifest your dream body (and life) on a daily basis.  

    The bottom line is that your mind and body must be in congruence to make a full-blooded physique transformation. Just like Morpheus says in the Matrix, “The body can’t live without the mind.”

    N.B. Long-time Shredder, Jay: Return To Form is also joining us for RTP Group Shred 2.0 as he put in his request on Day 1 and promptly uploaded his Day 1 post. Shred hard Jay!

      G’day Shredders,

      I’m blown away…again!

      On only 24 hours notice all 17 participating Shredders are batting at 100% in Group Shred 2.0 after Day 1! It is awesome to see so many of my fellow Shredders on board and firing on all cylinders!

      Today (Day 2) is a day of consolidation, it is extremely important psychologically to back up your Day 1 efforts with another strong day in order to start  ”snowballing” your self-belief. Wtach the video below to learn more about “Day 2 Mindset.”

      N.B. Long-time Shredder, Shari from Fit at Fifty Blog will be joining us for RTP Group Shred 2.0! As Shari was away for the weekend and this Group Shred was kicked off on 24 hours notice I believe Shari deserves a place in this Shred. Shred hard Shari!

      N.B. Unfortunately I am still having issues uploading the raw video files from my video camera onto my “long in the tooth” laptop (my main computer is still on it’s way from Japan!). However, I may have a solution figured out that will enable me to upload daily videos for Group Shred 2.0. I will test this theory today…stay tuned!

      ShredderSphere Admission & Accountability Cycles

      With over 35 active bloggers in the Shredder Blog Roll, ShredderSphere and the Shredder Council I believe it is time to simplify the accountability structure for each level.

      The accountability cycle for the Shredder Council and the ShredderSphere will now be calculated over each calendar month.

      New admissions into the ShredderSphere and Shredder Council will take place on the first Shredder Sunday after each calendar month.

      1) Shredder Blog Roll Admission:

      Sign up for free at www.RTP-VIP.com and start your real time accountability blog.

      2) ShredderSphere Admission:

      Once you you have blogged for one calender month at a minimum accountability compliance rate of 80% in the Shredder Blog Roll you will gain admission into the ShredderSphere.

      3) Shredder Council Admission:

      Once you have completed a 100-day period of blogging (and hard-core shredding!) with a minimum daily picture accountability compliance rate of 95% you will be eligible for entry into the Shredder Council Online Boardroom.

      Important: Each month you will see movement between The Shredder Council and The ShredderSphere. No person is “cut” from a level, rather each Shredder is in 100% control of their own destiny and completely free to decide at which level they would like to participate.

      Save Time With An RSS Reader

      Use an RSS Reader to stay up to date with all the latest blog posts from your Fellow Shredders. This tip will save you a ton of time because you can read all blog posts and comments (and make comments) from within one stand-alone RSS Reader.

      The RSS Reader I use and recommend is a free application called Net News Wire by News Gator. This company has RSS Readers for both Windows and Mac.

      Once you have an RSS Reader, then it is a simple matter of subscribing to each individual RSS feed provided by each Shredder. For blogs hosted onBlogger you will find the RSS Feed link at the bottom of each home page by default (called “Posts Atom”).

      Example: The RSS Feed for RTP Blog 2.0 is http://rtpblog2.wordpress.com/feed/

      ShredderSphere Requirement:

      Setting Up Your Own Shredder Blog Roll

      One of the core philosophies of the ShredderSphere is to increase “positive pressure” via real time accountability. The “positive pressure” each Shredder feels (to get the job done) is usually in direct proportion to the amount of visitors they receive to their blogs.

      In order to achieve this goal we need a traffic distribution network that gives every Shredder an equal opportunity to receive traffic (and give traffic).

      The simplest way to achieve this is for each Shredder to set up their own Blog Roll, exactly the same as what I have in my sidebar, i.e. Shredder Council 2.0; ShredderSphere 1.0 and Shredder Blog Rolls.

      If you are a new Shredder who has not done this yet I highly recommend you do as you will create a much tighter bond with your Fellow Shredders.

      In order to be admitted to the ShredderSphere you must have your fellow Shredders linked in your own Blog Roll exactly the same as what I have in my sidebar, i.e. Shredder Council 2.0; ShredderSphere 1.0 and Shredder Blog Rolls.

      Day 716: My First Double Down!

      Today I got in the first of many “Double Shreds” coming my way over the next 2 weeks. I did two sessions of cardio (morning and afternoon) and felt surprisingly good during my second session of “Steady State” cardio.

      Now I’m off to hit my PT Course study books, and to ponder an idea…

      G’day Shredders,

      I’m completely spent from my Personal Training Course study, training sessions and web site building. However, I am really enjoying my Aussie PT Course study, especially anatomy and biomechanics…the human body really is an amazing invention! 

      Now that I am back close to full strength I’m gearing up the for the final Mission 5 Shred…2 weeks (minimum) of “Double Training” and/or “Double Cardio.”  I will also get stricter with my nutrition here on out as well as I zero in on my sub-5% bodyfat target…whatever it takes!

      Day 714: Surprise!

      G’day Shredders

      Today was a great day…my first full day back into “hard training” after my unscheduled layoff. I hit my chest, back, biceps and calves with the full force of the RTP Circuit Training program I have been following since Week 9.

      Surprisingly, my weights, reps and rest periods for this particular routine did not slide backwards due to my layoff. In fact, I actually upped the weight on Barbell Bench Press and Bicep Dumbbell Curls!

      I guess this just goes to show the importance of listening to your body, and not being afraid to take time off from hard training when you are not feeling well.

      I have learned from past experience that continually drilling yourself in the gym when you are not operating at (or near) full strength will usually backfire and result in an extended layoff (and reduced strength when you do eventually return.)

      Day 713: Back In Action!

      G’day Shredders,

      After a 2-Day rest from hard training (and blogging) due to a bout with a mild flu I am now back to full strength. While I prefer not to take days off (from shredding or blogging) I felt it was necessary this time around in order to re-charge my batteries and prevent a full-blown case of the flu that would have sidelined me for much longer.

      The obvious downside to my unscheduled rest time is the backwards progression of my physique over the last 5 days (since my last full-blown training session). It really is amazing how quickly the slide backwards can be when you go off your training plan for a relatively short period of time. However, I have been in similar situations before and I know exactly what it takes to turn it around, in the shortest time possible.

      On the plus side I have made two decisions during this “contemplation period”:

      1) Re-double my efforts and leave no stone unturned over the next 3 weeks as I zero in on the 2-Year anniversary of this real-time blog.

      2) Continue real time accountability after I finish this Mission until I reach my goal of sub 5% body fat, i.e. unlike previous Missions I will not take my foot off the gas pedal once I complete the designated deadline for this Mission.

      Before I sign off I’d like to thank Mike, Juli, Debbie and Bob for checking up on me in my absence. Thank you very much, your support means a lot to me.
