Day 692: Feeling Good!

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

Well it has now been 5 days since I touched down in Oz and I’m finally starting to feel settled again. My sleep patterns are finally back to normal and my new daily (habit-forming) routine is taking shape.

I am also becoming accustomed to my new gym (which is awesome!) and the amazing variety of machines and free weight training options available to me, compared to my “local” gym back in Japan.

All in all, I am feeling good and primed to shred!

Until tomorrow…

Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!

Catch ya,

Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

Day 691: The Birds Are Chirping!

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

This morning something surreal happened…I could hear the sound of birds chirping as I woke up!

This is such a pleasant change to what I was accustomed to back in Japan, 24/7 traffic on the main drag out the front of my apartment! For the first time in a long time I am now able to sleep the night through without being woken up by a passing truck or motorbike.

This is a great thing, as quality of REM sleep, rest and recovery play a massive role in physique transformation success!

Before I sign off today I’d like to tip my hat to Mark: Journey To 185 for finishing his 10K run and beating his previous best by 10 minutes!

P.S. My Real Time Accountability Log is a little “stitched” together today as my laptop screen is not large enough to take one full screencap.

P.P.S. Thank you Shredders for your massive welcome home comments to yesterday’s Day 690: Back Down Under post! In today’s pic you can see the welcome home sign my nephews greeted me at the airport with last week!

Until tomorrow…

Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!

Catch ya,

Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

G’day Shredders,

Welcome to Shredder Sunday #33…live from Australia!

Fair dinkum…I am a dinky di Aussie again!

That’s right, after 8 years of living abroad I am now back in Oz…and it feels awesome.

Even though I have been back to Oz many times before this time it really does feel different. In fact, I think I am feeling a little “reverse culture shock” as there is so much wide open, green space here compared to Japan.

The last couple of days have been off the Richter busy catching up with my family and organizing my new life. I am also pleased to report that I have gotten in every planned training session since I got back.

I am now jumping out of my skin to hit the “shred button” over the next 42 days and bring home the bacon (sub 5% bodyfat) for Mission 5: South Beach To Surfers Judgment Day (the 2-year anniversary of RTP Blog!)

Stay tuned…

Today I’d like to welcome A Day In The Life Of… to the Shredder Blog Roll: 30 Day Challenge.

N.B. Please read below for tips and requirements on being submitted to the Shredder Blog Roll/ShredderSphere.

My Biggest Secret: Free PDF Report

Is it really possible to see results in only 28 days, create unstoppable momentum and blast through the fat loss barricade forever?

Is there really a “secret” I have kept to myself since November 8, 2006?

Is it also true that this “secret” has nothing to do with training, nutrition or supplementation?

The answer is yes…to every single question.

If so, then why have I kept this secret from you when I have virtually uploaded every other aspect of my life onto my blog since November 8, 2006?

In my Special Report, My Biggest Secret I will reveal for the first time the “secret” I have guarded since Day 1 of Mission 1 and how this secret enabled me to blast through the fat loss barricade forever.

Go To www.RTP-VIP.com to download this free report and implement this “secret” immediately.

ShredderSphere Admission & Accountability Cycles

With over 35 active bloggers in the Shredder Blog Roll, ShredderSphere and the Shredder Council I believe it is time to simplify the accountability structure for each level.

The accountability cycle for the Shredder Council and the ShredderSphere will now be calculated over each calendar month.

New admissions into the ShredderSphere and Shredder Council will take place on the first Shredder Sunday after each calendar month.

1) Shredder Blog Roll Admission:

Sign up for free at www.RTP-VIP.com and start your real time accountability blog.

2) ShredderSphere Admission:

Once you you have blogged for one calender month at a minimum accountability compliance rate of 80% in the Shredder Blog Roll you will gain admission into the ShredderSphere.

3) Shredder Council Admission:

Once you have completed a 100-day period of blogging (and hard-core shredding!) with a minimum daily picture accountability compliance rate of 95% you will be eligible for entry into the Shredder Council Online Boardroom.

Important: Each month you will see movement between The Shredder Council and The ShredderSphere. No person is “cut” from a level, rather each Shredder is in 100% control of their own destiny and completely free to decide at which level they would like to participate.

Shredder Tips & Requirements

ShredderSphere Tip:

Save Time With An RSS Reader

Use an RSS Reader to stay up to date with all the latest blog posts from your Fellow Shredders. This tip will save you a ton of time because you can read all blog posts and comments (and make comments) from within one stand-alone RSS Reader.

The RSS Reader I use and recommend is a free application called Net News Wire by News Gator. This company has RSS Readers for both Windows and Mac.

Once you have an RSS Reader, then it is a simple matter of subscribing to each individual RSS feed provided by each Shredder. For blogs hosted onBlogger you will find the RSS Feed link at the bottom of each home page by default (called “Posts Atom”).

Example: The RSS Feed for RTP Blog 2.0 is http://rtpblog2.wordpress.com/feed/

*If you have an RSS Reader you’d like to recommend just drop a comment in this post.

ShredderSphere Requirement:

Setting Up Your Own Shredder Blog Roll

One of the core philosophies of the ShredderSphere is to increase “positive pressure” via real time accountability. The “positive pressure” each Shredder feels (to get the job done) is usually in direct proportion to the amount of visitors they receive to their blogs.

In order to achieve this goal we need a traffic distribution network that gives every Shredder an equal opportunity to receive traffic (and give traffic).

The simplest way to achieve this is for each Shredder to set up their own Blog Roll, exactly the same as what I have in my sidebar, i.e. Shredder Council 2.0; ShredderSphere 1.0 and Shredder Blog Rolls.

If you are a new Shredder who has not done this yet I highly recommend you do as you will create a much tighter bond with your Fellow Shredders.

In order to be admitted to the ShredderSphere you must have your fellow Shredders linked in your own Blog Roll exactly the same as what I have in my sidebar, i.e. Shredder Council 2.0; ShredderSphere 1.0 and Shredder Blog Rolls.

Examples Of Shredders With Correct Blog Roll Links

Below are examples of new Shredders who have set up their Shredder Blog Rolls correctly and will be eligible for ShredderSphere admission.

Until tomorrow…

Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!

Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

Day 684: Not Long To Go Now…

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

Only a few more days until I say sayonara to Japan and move back to Australia. As “zero hour” is fast approaching my home Internet access will cease 24 hours from now, so tomorrow will be my last post from Japan.

I will resume daily posting the day after I touch down in Australia and update my real-time accountability log to reflect my compliance to my RTP Training and Nutrition Plan over this time period.

G’day Shredders,

Welcome to Shredder Sunday #32.

Today’s episode is a flashback to 2005 (originally made during Mission 3) where I outlined a physique transformation mission via webcam (for the very first time).

The video continues on from the theme of Shredder Sunday #30: Re-framing “Failure” This is a real-world example that shows no matter how many times you “fail” you can always learn from your experience and use it to harden your resolve the next time you undertake a physique transformation.

Today I’d like to welcome Julie: Quest For Muscle to the Shredder Blog Roll: 30 Day Challenge.

N.B. Please read below for tips and requirements on being submitted to the Shredder Blog Roll/ShredderSphere.

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

This evening I had my last ever Osaka karaoke session with my close Japanese friends.

We had a great time singing tunes and reminiscing about our adventures over the last 8 years. One thing that hasn’t changed over all this time is my singing ability!

See you again soon for Shredder Sunday #32!

Until tomorrow…

Day 681: Back To Full Strength!

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

In yesterday’s post I mentioned that I started to pick up a flu’ type bug and was feeling a little drained of energy. In years gone by this would almost certainly mean I would wake up the next day with a full-blown flu’ and spend the next 3 or 4 days in bed.

However, today was different, I actually woke up with no ill-effects and felt back to full-strength! So much so, that I got in a great workout tonight on the RTP Training System

In fact, I realized today that apart from a few bouts of food poisoning (dodgy salmon!) I have not been “really” sick since mid-2006.  This is in stark contrast to the years previous when I would usually come down with an illness about once every 6 months that would confine me to my bed for days at a time.

Put simply, I do not believe it is a coincidence that once I started eating clean and shredding hard on a daily basis (since the back-end of 2006) I have managed to avoid serious bouts of illness.

I believe this combination of sensible nutrition, consistent training and positive mindset contributes greatly to a strengthened immune system that enables you to fight off would be “bugs” (but I’m not a doctor so I don’t quote me on that!)

I would be very curious to know if my fellow Shredders have felt the same positive effects since you shredding consistently. If you have had a similar experience feel free to post your comments to this entry.

 Until tomorrow…

Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!

Catch ya,

Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

Day 680: Thank You Mark and Lilla!

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

I’d like to say a big thank you to Mark: Journey To 185 and Lilla: Healthy Simple Living for their input into yesterday’s Day 679: ShredderSphere Widget post about how to streamline the ShredderSphere Blog Roll process.

Moving forward there are many options available (Google Reader, custom widget, Yahoo Pipes, Ning) to integrate streamlined RSS Feeds into the ShredderSphere. Once we identify and test a solution that works for both WordPress.com (no Java-script) and Google Blogger blogs we’ll integrate it ASAP.

Question From Jose:

In yesterday’s post I also received a question from Jose:

Hi Adan, I am hoping this question is not too dumb to ask, but I ‘ve been looking at your site for some time now and got a lot of motivation from it. I also look at the accountability log you have and was wondering if you have this on an excel sheet or how do you get the information in everyday? If it’s in excel, do you have in somewhere we can also get it?

Thank you.

  Jose.

Hi Jose, thanks for your question mate. My accountability log is built via a word processor (Pages for Mac) and updated daily using pre-existing parameters. To get it on my blog I simply take a screen capture picture of the log and upload it via the WordPress images function. I trust this helps you mate.

Until tomorrow…

P.S. While I did manage to get in today’s workout I did came down with a slight “flu” today. So, I’ll get some sleep now and hopefully I’ll be back to full strength in the morning!

Day 679: A ShredderSphere Widget?

Posted by: Adam Waters | Comments (0)

G’day Shredders,

Yesterday I received a great suggestion from Andrew: Project Ripped in the comments section of the Shredder Sunday #31 post.

Comment by Andrew on September 16, 2008 8:32 pm

Hi Adam

I use an RSS reader (NetNewsWire) to keep up to date with all the shredders blog posts.

Do you have an RSS feed for the shreddersphere blog roll? It would make sense to do this through RSS and then whenever a new member is added all of our blogs would have an up to date set of links.

I am sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to work out a bit of code to include in our layouts to display the list.

What do you think?

Andrew

Thanks for your comment Andrew. I actually use Net News Wire myself to keep up-to-date with all Shredders in the Council, Sphere and Blog Roll, it is a great time-saving piece of software as it negates the need to check each blog manually via a browser.

In regards to a group RSS feed for the ShredderSphere I believe that would be a great innovation as any new additions would automatically be updated across all Shredder Blogs (without the need for each Shredder to manually insert new links every month).

How A ShredderSphere Widget Could Work…

It is my understanding that this would probably require a custom-built “widget” in order to channel and automatically update all Shredder Blog RSS feeds. Once the “widget” is built then each Shredder would only have to insert the code into their side nav bar one time only, which would be a great time-saver.

Calling All “Widget Programmers”!

If there are any programmers or people familiar with “widgets” reading this blog I would very much appreciate your comments as to whether a ShredderSphere “widget” like what I have described above is feasible (I’m just guessing!)

Thank you again Andrew for your great suggestion!

Until tomorrow…
