Shredder Accountability
With over 35 active bloggers in the Shredder Blog Roll, ShredderSphere and the Shredder Council I believe it is time to simplify the accountability structure for each level.

Please note that this is a 100% free service (started over 250 days ago with the Original Group Shred) and is designed to help you in your quest for a full-blooded physique transformation via “positive pressure” and community support from like-minded Shredders.

Important: Each month you will see movement between The Shredder Council and The ShredderSphere. No person is “cut” from a level, rather each Shredder is in 100% control of their own destiny and completely free to decide at which level they would like to participate.
Shredder Tips
ShredderSphere Tip No.1: Save Time With An RSS Reader
Use an RSS Reader to stay up to date with all the latest blog posts from your Fellow Shredders. This tip will save you a ton of time because you can read all blog posts and comments (and make comments) from within one stand-alone RSS Reader.
The RSS Reader I use and recommend is a free application called Net News Wire by News Gator. This company has RSS Readers for both Windows and Mac.
Once you have an RSS Reader, then it is a simple matter of subscribing to each individual RSS feed provided by each Shredder. For blogs hosted onBlogger you will find the RSS Feed link at the bottom of each home page by default (called “Posts Atom”).
Example: The RSS Feed for RTP Blog 2.0 is http://rtpblog2.wordpress.com/feed/
*If you have an RSS Reader you’d like to recommend just drop a comment in this post.
ShredderSphere Tip No.2: Setting Up Your Shredder Blog Roll
One of the core philosophies of the ShredderSphere is to increase “positive pressure” via real time accountability. The “positive pressure” each Shredderfeels (to get the job done) is usually in direct proportion to the amount of visitors they receive to their blogs.
In order to achieve this goal we need a traffic distribution network that gives every Shredder an equal opportunity to receive traffic (and give traffic).
The simplest way to achieve this is for each Shredder to set up their own Blog Roll, exactly the same as what I have in my sidebar, i.e. Shredder Council 2.0; ShredderSphere 1.0 and Shredder Blog Rolls.
If you are a new Shredder who has not done this yet I highly recommend you do as you will create a much tighter bond with your Fellow Shredders.
Until tomorrow…
Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!
Cheers,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

Day 659: Inspirational Quotes From My Fellow Shredders
Posted by: | CommentsG’day Shredders,
Thank you Mark: The Journey To 185, Juli: Run Wild Blog, Doreen, Danny: Physique Improvement, Juan: Lean For Life for sharing your inspirational quotes in response to yesterday’s Day 658: Power And Passion post.
The thing that stands out for me from your comments is how music serves as such a powerful emotional trigger for so many people. So, without further adieu, I’d like to share the quotes and music lyrics have inspired my Fellow Shredders, and may just inspire you!
Comment by Mark on August 27, 2008 12:53 pm
My favourite quote of the moment is from Lance Armstrong:
“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”
Comment by Juli on August 27, 2008 5:58 pm
Hey Adam, it is difficult to decide…I have many and a very “kitschy” power-song,is “It is my Life” from Bon Jovi and Midnight Oil’s “Beds are burning”.
My song which influenced me a lot was probably John Lennon’s “Imagine”.
Music is a big force, it motivates a ot, keeps you going and pushing.
You look great today,
Juli
Comment by Doreen on August 27, 2008 6:02 pm
Well I’m a Coldplay fan and most of their music seem to fit my “life script” so to say. And I’ve always felt encouragement whenever I hear these lines from one of their songs, titled “Everything’s Not Lost” :
“And when I counted up my demons, I saw there was one for every day
With the good ones on my shoulders, I send the other ones away”
I guess you can interpret this in different ways. But when I hear them, I hear encouragement.
Comment by Danny on August 27, 2008 11:20 pm
Theres one song i discovered, that i find very inspiring.
Rob Thomas – Little Wonders
Honestly id like to post the entire song, as it has alot of meaning…
Hmmm hope you dont mind adam…
Here it comes:
Rob Thomas – Little Wonders
Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder,
Don’t you know, the hardest part is over, let it in,
Let your clarity define you in the end,
You will only just remember how it feels. Our lives are made, in these small hours, these little wonders
These twisted turns of fate, time falls away,
But these small hours, these small hours, still remain.Let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you, let it shine,
Till you feel it all around you,
And I don’t mind, if it’s me you need to turn to, we’ll get by,
It’s the heart that really matters in the end.Our lives are made, in these small hours, these little wonders
These twisted turns of fate, time falls away,
But these small hours, these small hours, still remain.
All of my regret, will wash away somehow,
But I cannot forget the way I feel right now.
In these small hours, these little wonders, these twisted turns of fate,
All these twisted turns of fate, these twisted turns of fate
Yeah, times falls away
But these small hours, these small hours, still remain.
They still remain, these little wonders, all these twisted turns of fate
time falls away, but these small hours, these little wonders
Still remain.
A very inspiring song in my oppinion. It describes what shredders go through every day. These small hours in which we work our hardest count the most, and every transformation is a little wonder.
There will always be twists in people’s fates and so we have to adapt.
The funny thing is, that i pretty much discovered this song when i started my blog.
It was a bit ironic, as the firt few lines fi perfectly, describing that the hardest poart is over. People say, that getting started is the hardest part of doing something, and i had just started my Phisique Transformation.
Also this song is very calming, if you have motivation-leeches sucking at you, referring to “let it go, let it roll right of your shoulder, dont you know, the hardest part is over”
Well im done with this comment. If youve made it so far, good job, lol.
Shred on mate.
Danny

Hey Adam and shredders,
I’d like to share some lyrics from a Ben Harper song called fight for your mind. It speaks of making bold movements and fighting for the decisions you make and what you believe in. here’s an excerpt:
“if you’re gonna step,
step on in.
if you’re gonna finish,
you got to begin.
Don’t you fear,
what you don’t know.
Just let that be
your room to grow”
Thanks for all of the songs guys. Music is a huge part of my life and all your lyrics have been inspiring.
Until tomorrow…

Day 658: The Power And The Passion
Posted by: | CommentsG’day Shredders,
While I was cranking out my cardio today I heard some very powerful lyrics on my iPod that almost stopped me dead in my tracks!
The lyrics are from a song called “The Power and the Passion” by Aussie band, Midnight Oil. Growing up in Oz I have probably heard this song hundreds of times but for some reason one particular line in the song really resonated with me today:
“It’s better to die on your feet than live on your knees”
Isn’t that powerful! I think it’s amazing how artists, musicians and poets can deliver such a powerful multi-layered message with so few words.
If you have any particular song lyrics or quotes that inspire you feel free to share them in the comments section below.
Until tomorrow…

Day 657: And The Winner Is…
Posted by: | CommentsG’day Shredders,
Wow! What an awesome response to yesterday’s Day 656: RTP Quiz where I posted the following question:
RTP Quiz: Hidden Power Of Daily Picture Accountability
There is one more reason why I am extremely confident I will hit my best shape ever by November 8, 2008!
My confidence stems from a technique I have used previously to accurately predict what I am capable of physically over any given period of time.
Can you guess what this technique is?
Hint: The answer lies in the hidden power of daily picture accountability.
Here were the guesses to yesterday’s RTP Quiz:
- Comment by Mark on August 25, 2008 4:39 pmWow Adam, you have really bulked up the last week or so!
- Comment by Juli on August 25, 2008 7:28 pmVisualisation and reading the PRWs…you look fantastic, Adam.Juli
- Comment by Lynda Renfro Diaz on August 25, 2008 7:50 pmWill make a guess….you compare your abs to the photo of the day before? Or have some point that you compare. Whatever you are doing I WANT TO DO too. Tell us please.
Lynda - Comment by Suzette on August 25, 2008 8:21 pmvisualization and reading your goals daily! also by taking your pic daily it is a constant reminder of what you need to do today and helps you keep on track so you don’t go backwards with your progress.
- Comment by ERIC on August 26, 2008 1:10 amWhat your are doing is definately working! Absolutely a change in the last few days. I’d tell you to keep it up but it would be pointless. Nothing is going to stop you!
Comment by mikegroom on August 26, 2008 1:29 amI’ll go for the power of visualisation. Knowing that you are striving to improve upon the picture on the left…
Comment by Ron on August 26, 2008 2:01 amYou already that it took you 84-days on M4 to get to your previous best. Given that you’re in better shape at the start of M5 compared to the start of M4, your 84-day timeframe for M5 to get to the best shape of your life is definitely achievable.Comment by Lilla on August 26, 2008 3:08 am
- I vote for all of the above answers!Definite changes in a week’s time. Can’t imagine what 11 more weeks will bring!
And The Winner Is…
Thank you Shredders for your very insightful answers. Visualization and “positive pressure” are both massive factors in daily picture accountability.
In regards to the specific “hidden power” technique I am currently using the winner is Ron! As you can see from Ron’s answer above he said:
“You already that it took you 84-days on M4 to get to your previous best. Given that you’re in better shape at the start of M5 compared to the start of M4, your 84-day timeframe for M5 to get to the best shape of your life is definitely achievable.”
Ron Nails It!
Ron hit nail on the head! At this moment in time I am exactly 76 days out from the end of Mission 5. Because I take daily pictures it is easy for me to go back in time and see where I was physically at the corresponding day on Mission 4, when I was 76 days out from my M4 Shred Deadline.
This data provides me with concrete evidence of what I am capable of over a 76-Day Shred period and allows me to accurately predict what I can achieve for Mission 5.
The cool thing is that if I am in advance of where I was at the corresponding time period I can gain a great deal of confidence that I will exceed my previous best!
Guess What?!
I am definitely ahead now from the corresponding point in time for Mission 4! It is precisely this reason why I am so confident I will hit my best shape ever by November 8, 2008!
Can you see how powerful this is?! Daily picture accountability has the potential to not only keep you “on track” via “positive pressure” but also the power to give you a massive shot of confidence as well!
I highly encourage members of the Shredder Council and ShredderSphere to employ this powerful technique when you are setting new goals. You may even surprise yourself at how powerful this technique is!
The Proof
If you like to see where I was at the corresponding time over Mission 4 go to Day 419: The Year Of The Shred. To see where I finished 76 days later go to Day 495: M4 Shred Report Card
Until tomorrow…
Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!

Day 656: Hidden Power Of Daily Picture Accountability
Posted by: | CommentsG’day Shredders,
Back on Day 650: RTP Shred 2.0 Goals post I stated the following:

- Get in the best physical condition of my life and exceed the results I achieved on my previous 12-Week Shred, conducted over Mission 4 (Day 495: M4 Shred results seen below).
- Crack 5.00% Bodyfat and reveal greater definition on my last two abs (this one has been a long time coming!)
- Exceed my M4 Shred real time accountability compliance rate of 98.09%.
To attain these goals by M5 Judgment Day I will indeed have to exceed my M4 Shred real time accountability compliance rate of 98.09% (as stated above).
As my accountability compliance rate is a factor completely under my control I am extremely confident that I will exceed my previous best and hit my goals.
RTP Quiz: Hidden Power Of Daily Picture Accountability
However, there is one more reason why I am extremely confident I will hit my best shape ever by November 8, 2008!
My confidence stems from a technique I have used previously to accurately predict what I am capable of physically over any given period of time.
Can you guess what this technique is?
Hint: The answer lies in the hidden power of daily picture accountability.
If you’d like to take a stab at the answer just leave a comment to this blog post, and I may reveal this top-secret hidden power in tomorrow’s post!
P.S. This hidden power really does have the ability to give you a massive shot of confidence!

Day 654: In The Zone
Posted by: | CommentsG’day Shredders,
I got a feeling…this RTP Shred 2.0 really is gonna get me in the best shape of my life!
I am starting to get back in the “shred groove” in a big way. The feeling I have now is similar to how I felt 30 days out from Mission 4: Training Day with Tom Venuto (Internet’s No.1 fat loss authority), that is a sense of self-fulfulling physique transformation prophecy!
Being “In The Zone”
If there is one thing I have discovered over the last 654 days it is this, when you are “in the zone” fast progress can be made over a relatively short period of time.
For me, being “in the zone” means more than just being compliant to your workouts and nutrition. It means your core beliefs, thoughts and actions are in alignment with your goals.
As you can probably see from my Daily Picture Time Machine I tend to navigate my way through Missions in a non-linear fashion. In other words, the physical progress I make during Missions is not usually a straight line upwards.
The Power Of Forward Projection
I tend to make quicker progress in the final “shred phases” as my deadline draws closer. This was certainly the case over the last 24 days of Mission 1 and the last 10 days of Mission 2. The difference this time around is that I am “in the zone” 79 days out from my deadline for Mission 5.
I attribute this to the fact I am extremely motivated to cap off 2 years (Day 731) of daily blogging on the highest note possible. When I forward project to that day I want to know that I did everything in my power to crack 5% bodyfat and achieve the best physical shape of my life.
No regrets, no surrender, failure is not an option.
Ok Shredders, its light for me now!
Until tomorrow…

RTP Group Shred: Day 2 (30 Comments)
G’day Shredders,
I’m blown away!
You guys have astounded me with the support and encouragement you have shown each other (even before we went “live” with Day 1!)
I’m also very pleased to report that all RTP Blog Shredders are present and accounted for as we go “live” with Day 2.
I’ve got a very good feeling about this…we may have just triggered a snowball whose destiny it is to become an avalanche of self-fulfilling physique transformation prophecy!
Inside this video you will discover…
- RTP:GS Update: Why I’m so blown away!
- Day 2: How important this day really is.
- Training Tip: The hidden power of daily picture accountability.
- Shredder Q&A: I tackle Andrew’s question about “rest days” while “shredding”.
