Day 544: RTP Quiz – Who Is My Friend?

By

G’day Shredders,

Just a quick post today as I’m still recovering from yesterday’s marathon session at the computer (I gotta get out more!).

My M5 Training Partner Has Arrived In Japan

Back on Day 542: My Friend From The USA Has Arrived In Japan I mentioned that I have a new training partner direct from The USA, who has put “results on the board”!

The coolest thing is that my friend will be with me for the duration of Mission 5! Rest assured my friend will leave no stone unturned in my quest get in the best shape of my life by M5 Judgment Day. You can bet the farm on that!

The Toughest RTP Quiz Yet!

As my Fellow Shredders have all seen my friend on video before I thought I’d have a little quiz to see who can guess my friend’s identity!

That’s right, the identity of my friend is now officially the toughest RTP Quiz yet!

Three Hints!

1) My friend is the “strong and silent” type.
2) Tom Venuto introduced me to him.
3) A big hint is contained in this post!

Ok Shredders, if you’d like to take a stab at the identity of my friend just post your answer in today’s post.

If someone guesses correctly I’ll persuade my friend to make a guest appearance in tomorrow Day 545 pic!

Until tomorrow…

Eat Clean, Shred Hard, Think BIG!

Cheers,

Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

P.S. For all Council 2.0 Candidates: If you haven’t done so already I invite you to renew your “pledge” in the comment section on yesterday’s edition of Shredder Sunday #12.

P.S.S. Below are my RTP Blog Day 544 pics for May 5, 2008: Mission 5 – Pre Shred

Hey Adam. Didn’t you have some large photos (of yours truly) mounted on wood or foam? Are these coming out or is it a lifesize cardboard cutout?

  • Andrew

    I’ll take a stab at Jeff McBride…

That’s a good guess Mike! Training against my previous best! But sorry, thats not it!

  • http://www.rtp-blog.com Adam Waters

Haha, ANdrew that would be cool! But Jeff is not in Osaka right now (as far as I know!)

I’m surprised that you’re still calling him your friend after what he put you through. And I thought Tom was a taskmaster! Your “friend” is brutal.

    BTW, hubba hubba! Looking good.

i figured it out!!! it took me a little while…but i am sure it is the infamous “Quad Blaster” “Results on the board”…would be the clue?! I am i right????! :)

Hum, a friend introduced by Tom Venuto…hum, I looked at your facebook page and at Tom’s site and I think that it may be Rob Cooper.
I look for the answer Adam…

  • Lynda Renfro Diaz

Has got to be that terrible machine that made you so unhappy. Well, anyway you were looking unhappy. That´s all it could be. If it doesn´t get you, you will surely get into fantastic shape!
    Lynda

    I reckon Suzette’s got it!

  • Joni

Oh Suz you totally scooped me on that, it’s gotta be Mr. Quad Blaster! Great job! Adam, you are crazy that thing’s a beast. I couldn’t figure out how to buy one from the website, though…oh well, I don’t know if I’m up for that yet! Can’t wait to see the pic!

  • Mike in Japan

Adam, Quite a journey. I am in Japan 7 years as well and started my own exercise / diet program in June 07. I dropped from 87kg / 27% BF to 72kg / 14% BF and feel great about my results. 2 things I have noticed and wanted to know your experiences – 1. I dropped reps to 15 and limit rest periods to 30 seconds during weight training from about 6 mos. back…I noticed my strength/endurance has dropped quite a bit…any worries? 2. the rapid weight loss has caused my face to become significantly smaller….Japanese are always asking “were you sick?” Half of me says I feel great and not to worry about either…just wanted to hear your experiences on both. Cheers, Mike

  • AlexHK

Hi Mike in Japan. I have had the same experience, my face became significantly smaller and people think I don’t eat enough. For me it’s even worth, because I travel a lot so people didn’t see me for a few months and then suddenly I show up thin like Pinocchio ;-) I was also asking myself if there is a way to add bulk to the face, but I guess nothing we can do here. I will start a bulk phase soon, I will let you know if I see any changes on my face as well, but again, I guess there is really nothing that can be done. The funny thing is that before I became fat my face looked just like it does now. Seems people liked the round face better or just got used to it after 5 years of looking at it.

You are onto something there Lilla!

  • http://www.rtp-blog.com Adam Waters

Thank you Suzette, Lynda, Bob, Mike and Joni for your guesses. One of you is right! Answer coming soon…

  • http://www.rtp-blog.com Adam Waters

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment and personal story. On the subject of weight training that is a biggie, too much to cover in one reply, but check out the sidebar where I documented my exact weight training/meal plan daily over 84 days on “Mission 4″.

It is titled M4 Shred: Real Time Accountability Log, this will give you full details on what I did on a daily basis in regards to weight training.

On the face aspect Mike and Alex I’ll talk about in tomorrow’s post. That is an interesting topic. I’ll show you some pics of what happened to my face at certain time periods and explain what I think is going on.

P.S. Alex, how is your Chopper Plan coming along?

  • http://pfg-workout.blogspot.com/ Bob

What a shame! I am so stupid. I did not look for the touch of humor and irony in your msg adam. Indeed sure it is a silencer workout friend and I am sure that he (or IT) will make you cry in the next weeks! Suzette is right, quad blaster rules!

  • AlexHK

Hi Adam. Well, the Chopper plan is coming along but it will definitely take a long time until fully established (2009 or 2010ish). I am off to Europe by next Thursday for my Swiss Mountain Training over the summer, including exams and check ride etc. Flying in Switzerland is the next best thing to flying in beautiful New Zealand!

On the physique transformation side of things I reached my first goal to be more fit than ever on my birthday (which was a couple of weeks ago). Time to step up the effort and enter the next phase to and build some serious muscle just like you did. This will be a summer that goes into (my) history books. Well said in your todays post, “above average results require above average efforts!”

PS: Have a lot of fun with your new old friend.
